Hi, I’m Christina and welcome to my lifestyle blog, Humble & BOLD. Hope you enjoy your visit to this site and please feel free to message me to share your thoughts and any advice. I appreciate wise counsel!
I'm an Atlanta based, Birmingham born and bred Southern children's book author, lifestyle blogger, screenwriter, and speaker with a background in voice-over work and acting, who has a passion for sharing good news, encouraging words, and many creative interests such as: decorating, DIY projects, event planning, lessons learned, heart makeovers, room makeovers and treasure hunting.
I enjoy and really value honest, deep conversations and am learning to love more selflessly and take greater risks. My dear friend and neighbor calls me Polly Positive, and if I do come across too Pollyanna for you, bear with me, there was a darker side. Trying to be a good person on my own, I found was difficult and quite impossible.
Everything in my life started to come into sharp focus on April 16, 2013, when I underwent an eight-and-a-half-hour cancer surgery followed with a hot chemo wash, called the Sugarbaker Procedure at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. The name is ironic, because I loved the television show, Designing Women and the name of their interior design business, set in Atlanta, was called Sugarbakers. During my two weeks stay there and the months to follow, God did a work on my ego. Yes, I cringe to publicly admit it, but those creative gifts I just mentioned above, well, they would have been greatly overshadowed by the unchecked dark corners of my heart, had God not intervened and walked with me through some heavy remodeling. During my physical and spiritual recovery, the words humble and bold kept coming to mind over and over again and I couldn’t shake the feeling that God was speaking to me through those two important words.
Humble & Bold is more than a blog, it’s a movement. As much as I love room makeovers, they take on a whole new meaning, since I got to witness God doing a heart makeover on me. He is still working on it, but the improvement is already so refreshing. Click on these links to read more about the birth of Humble & BOLD and the confirmation of it.
I’m also married to a shofar sounding, evangelist, who used to be in a heavy metal band. Ha! Crazy weird, right? I really didn’t see that coming at all, but it has been a wonderful journey. If interested, check out Shofar Outreach. Thanks for taking time out your day to read this blog, and I sincerely hope you have an awesome revelation of the true meaning behind humble & BOLD! Feel free to share the below scripture pics.
