You and your guests are cordially invited to attend David's Tent, the longest running, outdoor Christian praise and worship event in our nation's history, located in the heart of Washington D.C. and within view of The White House and The Lincoln Memorial. You may attend at any time of the day or night as you feel called, before November 9, 2016 when the event will conclude. However, the praise and thankfulness will continue forever. To further explain the magnitude of this event, did you know that in the middle of the night, every night, there is someone singing praises to the Lord on our nation's behalf? That's right! At the time when all of us are mostly asleep there is someone singing to the Lord from inside a large white event tent on the National Mall. In the morning, all day long and in the long cold stretches of the night, there is non stop praise being lifted up, even as I type this post. Since September 11, 2015, there has been a continuous song of praise going up to the Lord from the heart of Washington, D.C. right at the base of the Washington Monument, and all those who wish to join in the praise are invited. How did all this begin? Jason Hershey, pioneer of YWAM Washington D.C. (Youth With A Mission), Washington House of Prayer and David's Tent D.C., sought out the heart of God, in a time of fasting and prayer for the United States, on what we, followers of Christ, could do physically and nationally to express our delight in the Lord and publically thank and praise Him. Jason humbly called out to God and asked, "What can I do, what can I do?" and through the leading of the Holy Spirit and several key scriptures, 1 Chronicles 16:1, Psalm 22:3 and Amos 9:11, God revealed to Jason His invitation for all of us to encounter Him as we lift His name up on high. In reading Jason's book, David's Tent, one can gain a better understanding and appreciation of how the movement got started. Planted after 911 and then growing to a round the clock, forty days of praise in 2012, forty-two days in 2013, fifty days in 2014 and now reaping 424 days in 2015/2016, David's Tent has been set up to pour out praise from our Nation's Capitol. It has spread from Washington D.C. in the United States to West Sussex in the United Kingdom. And the passionate worship of believers continues to grow! My husband's ministry, Shofar Outreach, was invited to sound the shofar, along with other shofar blowers from around the nation, at David's Tent at sunset on September 13, 2015 for Rosh Hashanah. We first arrived to the tent on September 10th to meet with the volunteers and pray over this movement. You can see the flags lowered to half-staff around The Washington Monument in remembrance of September 11, 2001. In meeting with Jason Hershey, a humble and passionate prayer warrior, we thought it more than coincidence that we had just seen the War Room movie before our trip and one of the ending scenes is right by David's Tent. Then just a month after we returned from D.C., we saw the movie, Woodlawn, and at the end of that movie was an invitation to TOGETHER 2016 in Washington, again, near David's Tent. Y'all God is up to something big and you are invited to be apart it! Psalms 117:1 says, "Praise the LORD, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth."
Prayerfully make your plans to attend David's Tent and join us in spreading the Word! With Love, Christina Stay humble&BOLD! To like my facebook page click here or find me on twitter @humble_bold.
