This time of year, I always look forward to the beautiful fall leaves, the cooler temperatures, the intoxicating smells of pumpkin spice, fun family festivals and the careful placement of fall decorations. However, this year has been different. My heart is sorrowful to see the summer go, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's a combination of all that we are seeing in the news with terror groups, struggling refuges, wildfires and concerns of a global economic collapse. If you google or youtube September 2015, you will read and see many things that are worrisome. Over and over again I feel the burden for peoples' hearts, their safety and salvation. God has quieted my fears and reminded me that my focus is to be on Him and to help others. Proverbs 10:5 says, "He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame." When I read that verse before, I always thought of it in the literal sense and how one should not be lazy, but now it seems to jump out at me in the context of spiritual matters. If you look at Luke 10:2 in the New Testament, Jesus says, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." After reading these words I hope I have been diligent in sharing the gospel message for the summer is now coming to a close. I've always heard stories of revival, but I've never witnessed one with my own eyes . . . until now! With the number one movie, War Room and others on their way, sounding in one accord, such as Captive and Woodlawn, it is clear to me that God is stirring the hearts of His people and calling us to get right with Him. Now the longest running outdoor Christian worship event in history is taking place at The Mall in Washington D.C. called David's Tent. Starting September 11, 2015 through November of 2016, David's Tent D.C. will run 24/7 praising God! John 12:32 says, "If He be lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself." With all the things that are happening in the world, let us make a bold decision. Let us get right with God and each other! Christina
