Here in the Southeast, we are experiencing record breaking drought along with forest fires, so this week's focus verse on Jeremiah 17: 7-8 speaks in high volume. As our group went on our Nature Walk, we noticed the roots of beautiful strong trees planted by the waters. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17: 7-8 (NKJV) Getting still to listen and learn from our Creator. I know there are many things He longs to show us through His word and His creation. Just before the verses on the blessed man, there is a warning in verse five and six. Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes his flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. Jeremiah 17: 5-6 In the Nature Walk study, it is pointed out that trees don't get to choose where they are planted, but we do have a choice on whom to place our trust and where to be planted. I couldn't help but notice that not only were the trees blessed by their root's location near the water, but also the wildlife that were drawn to gather at the base of these trees; they found comfort as well. Taking in the lessons from God's word and longing to be rooted in the love and truth of who He is! To fully put my trust in Him. What a beautiful way He teaches us! As we walked back inside we were recharged and refreshed! Sitting down to color and focus again on His promises for those who put their trust in Him. "they shall be like a tree planted near water." Jeremiah 17: 7-8 Hope you will take time to get still and focus on Him and His Word. Highly recommend this Bible study for your group!

As the stresses of life attempt to overwhelm us daily, make sure to take precious time alone with Him. Let Him have your full attention and watch as the focus from all your worries begins to shift to the Creator. Our Bible study group went through Nature Walk from Bible Stories from the Heart by Leslie Eaton and here are some pictures from week two. The peaceful chirping notes of happy birds gently cascaded from the tree tops down to our ears. It didn't take long to notice the the great attention to detail God has placed all around us in His creation. And to know we are a beautiful and important part of His handiwork! What a beautiful day to take it all in. We approached the chapel where folks where gathered to pray for our nation. Notice the beautiful birds of the air and land, that have all their needs met and are covered in glorious garments. As we came back inside we started to get still again and focus on God's word as we began to color. Our group leader would ask us questions from the Nature Walk curriculum, as we listened to soft Spirit filled music. Such peace was in the room as we kept our focus on our heavenly Father and His words to us. You are far more valuable to Him than any birds. Luke 12:24 Let those words sink in for a moment. Hope you will take time to get still and focus on Him and His Word. Highly recommend this Bible study for your group! Yikes! It was a little scary at first, but the rewards of cutting those items out of our diets has been well worth it. Here is one of our favorite and easy recipes for pancakes; add the pumpkin spice and you are ready for fall. This recipe is simple and can easily be adjusted to suit your own tastes. Only thing not show is gluten free flour that you can add to make pancakes a little more fluffy. The pictures for this batch was done without flour; which gives you almost crape thin pancakes. Warning: not so pretty, over ripe bananas were used because they are sweeter. Pardon the brown spots. Recipe for family of four, yielding 16 small pancakes each.
Using a blender to mix ingredients is key! The bananas will leave chunks if not blended well. I use the blend setting and pour batter onto hot griddle greased with coconut oil. I use an All-Clad nonstick griddle that my brother gifted to me one year; it has a wonderful cook surface. Pour batter onto griddle and wait for bubbling before flipping. If you add the gluten free flour to the batter, they tend to flip easier. You may find it takes some practice to get them to flip the way you like. Because of the bananas, they taste sweet on their own, but you can definitely drizzle your favorite maple syrup, honey or molasses over them. May want to just sprinkle cinnamon and powdered sugar and add some fruit. However you choose, I hope you enjoy this delicious and healthy recipe. With Love,

(Southern for - dear reader, I was mistaken on a subject matter.) I found myself drawn to and yet so very skeptical of adult coloring books. Seen them in stores and thought it was a neat concept, but the reality of having time to sit down and color didn't not seem like a possible fit for me. I get up before sunrise to get a morning time and feel like the rest of the day is a frantic race, full of activities all the way to sundown. Besides, thought my husband would have serious concerns if I starting posting my own coloring sheets on the fridge. God has been putting it on my heart to slow down and focus on Him through out my day; to recognize and enjoy the blessings all around me. And the way I came across this adult coloring Bible study was truly a divine appointment. My coordinator was leading a women's Bible Study after work and I almost didn't go to the first meeting, cause again I didn't think I could possibly sign up for one more thing. But I heard that small voice urging me to go, so I did! In our first gathering, different suggestions where laid out for us to vote on. Leslie Eaton's name came up and the circuits didn't connect for me at the time, until I saw her picture later. She was my son's (now in high school) amazing elementary school teacher. If I had missed that first meeting, I would have never made the connection. After looking over our options, everyone seemed very interested in the Nature Walk edition from Bible Stories From The Heart and we soon started our journey. Bible Stories From The Heart, written by Leslie Eaton and illustrations and artwork by Nicole Plymesser Nelson, has totally made me rethink the whole adult coloring thing. Since I had already had a very high opinion of Leslie's attention to detail and her positive, encouraging attitude in teaching her students firsthand, I was excited to start our study. What took me by surprise, was how calming and rejuvenating the study method was. We read the Word together, taking turns reading aloud, and then were encouraged to take a nature walk as a group, to focus on His creation. As we got back to color and listen to music, the weights on my shoulders started to roll off and I felt like a little child again, with Abba Father overseeing our classroom. I get teary just thinking how nice it felt to sit still, becoming like a little child to focus on His Word. As group Bible study time came to an end, I couldn't believe how relaxed I felt. My neck and shoulders felt like soft butter. There was a much deeper calm in my spirit, mind and body than any massage I had ever received. When I got home, I couldn't wait to finish my coloring sheet. Hope you will take time to get still and focus on Him and His Word. Highly recommend this Bible study for your group! Psalm 119:105 To check out my testimony click here To like my facebook page click here Find me on twitter @humble_bold Find me on Instagram humbleandbold My sons have been blessed with many wonderful school teachers over the years. One stand out teacher from many favorites was my oldest son's elementary school teacher, Mrs. Eaton. I still remember our first meeting and the sweet impression she not only made right from the start, but kept through out the entire school year. Her smile radiated joy and love, and she was firm and had appropriate expectations; it was the perfect balance. My son had just switched schools and she made the transition so easy and enjoyable for all of us. Her name would often come up in conversations our family had about positive attitudes and being a light to others when circumstances weren't always sunny. So imagine my excitement when I discovered that same teacher was the author of the Bible study curriculum our small group at work was looking into for our fall session. Bible Stories From The Heart, written by Leslie Eaton and illustrated by Nicole Plymesser Nelson is series of Bible study coloring books for adults. Not only is our work group doing Nature Walk, but I also joined Bible Stories for the Heart's Facebook group page to be apart of the Love Drops study. Below are just a few samples of the artwork in Love Drops. Bible Stories from the Heart really helps the reader to learn how to savor God's Word and meditate on it. As I sat down to color, I found myself becoming very relaxed. Now, because I love doing all kinds of art projects, I noticed that all of it to a degree is relaxing, however focusing on the word while coloring recharges and refreshes me in a way that is totally unique. What I love so much about this study approach is that it really helps with scripture memorization in a creative, soothing and relaxing atmosphere. I have greatly enjoyed this curriculum in a group setting, then also at home by myself, or with my youngest son who loves to color. Having an opportunity to sit and color the same coloring sheet and talk about it together is so fun and deepens our personal relationship. My favorite technique is coloring first and then going over the background with water colors. In a group setting, it is inspiring to see the different imaginative styles. With children, even thought the study is geared for adults, my youngest enjoys recognizing his sight words and doing art with mom. By the way, they won't always want to do stuff with mom, so savor those moments too! Love Drops! There is a precious peace that surpasses all understanding when getting alone with your heart's desire. To read His love letters and to savor sweet time with Him. To be still and know that He is God and that He loves us is quite an amazing experience. Because God's word has healed and transformed my life, I would love to give a copy of Love Drops away to a chosen winner of a drawing to be held after Thanksgiving! Follow me on twitter, instagram or facebook and leave a comment here to let me know which one AND you will be entered into a drawing for a copy of Love Drops Adult Coloring Bible Study! In fact, I may be guilty of shopping there for the reusable, recyclable paper bags. And I do reuse them! Here is just one creative way. I have some chalkboard surface pendants that stand out more with contrasting pendants behind them. Just lay out your paper bag, pick a pair of scissors and get to work. Doesn't take long at all!

Just say Trump Pence out loud. The profound significance of Donald J. Trump running for President of the United States has become very clear to me recently, and I wanted to share some revealing pictures from the fall of 2015 that should cause you to ponder. To explain the events of which I write, let me first back up to early spring of last year, when my husband, an evangelist with a shofar ministry, was invited by another ministry asking shofar sounders representing each state to come to Washington, D.C. to blow trumpets on Rosh Hashanah, September 13, 2015, around the White House after circling it in prayer. At the time, while we were praying over the people's house, we did not have anyone in mind for who would be taking office. We just knew that we needed to pray for the leadership of our nation and for Israel. If you follow these pictures, I think you will find some interesting things pointing to Trump along the way. My husband is to the right and another shofar sounder is in front of the police car. My husband with other godly men (above and below) standing in front of White House showing support for Israel. After leaving the White House, our group continued to sound the shofars while walking down Pennsylvania Avenue to attend another prayer meeting at the Capitol. (As I am writing this, I am becoming even more amazed at the great significance of that day, as trumpets sounded in front of FBI headquarters and the United States Department of Justice building which houses the office of the United States Attorney General.) Then we came across this sign. The Old Post Office and Clock Tower that Trump had been transforming into a beautiful hotel, now Trump International Hotel. At the time, I personally was in support of Dr. Ben Carson for President, but I remember seeing this huge sign and stopped to take a picture. It was on the right side of Pennsylvania Avenue as we moved toward the Capitol. We arrived at the corner of 3rd Street and Pennsylvania near the Capitol to pray a prayer of repentance for our National sins. I walked over from the site of our gathering to take this picture of this graceful lady dancing, praising God and praying over our nation. The construction work on the dome of the Capitol building in the background seemed symbolic of change that was coming. One of the speakers at this prayer gathering and walk was Jason Hershey, founder of David's Tent D.C. which had just started an unprecedented event just two days earlier on September 11, 2015; a tent dedicated to the Lord for 24/7 prayer and non stop worship and praise on The National Mall to run til election day of 2016. (Update, David's Tent just celebrated 10,000 hours of nonstop worship this week and plans are to go way beyond the November 8th deadline, because Jesus is worthy of it all!) The shofar sounders as they started their prayer march back to David's Tent for sunset on Rosh Hashanah. Folks that had never met before became united while praying for a righteous and just nation under God that would support Israel. This precious prayer warrior from Capitol Hill arrives at David's Tent to worship. As the sun goes down the shofar sounds on Rosh Hashanah 2015. In July of 2016, Trump announced his running mate, Mike Pence, who is a Christian. Now again I ask, what are the chances of a Trump Pence ticket after so many have prayed and sounded the trumpets for Israel and our country? When we returned home from our trip, my father-in-law showed me The Atlanta Journal-Constitution with Trump's picture on the front page. He had spoken at the Capitol just days earlier on September 10, 2015 in protest of the Iran Deal. I kept this paper and pondered on these things. These events that happened have all come together to paint a very beautiful picture of God raising up a man for such a serious time as this: to boldly lead, stand up for Israel and the unborn, and to serve the people of our nation. Many Christians have been crying out to God for forgiveness, justice and mercy across this land for years. I believe God has raised Donald Trump as an answer to those many prayers. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I sincerely ask you to consider these things as well and to vote for such a time as this! "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 English Standard Version (ESV) With Love,
