Love Drops Review - Bible Stories From The Heart

My sons have been blessed with many wonderful school teachers over the years. One stand out teacher from many favorites was my oldest son's elementary school teacher, Mrs. Eaton. I still remember our first meeting and the sweet impression she not only made right from the start, but kept through out the entire school year. Her smile radiated joy and love, and she was firm and had appropriate expectations; it was the perfect balance. My son had just switched schools and she made the transition so easy and enjoyable for all of us. Her name would often come up in conversations our family had about positive attitudes and being a light to others when circumstances weren't always sunny.

So imagine my excitement when I discovered that same teacher was the author of the Bible study curriculum our small group at work was looking into for our fall session. Bible Stories From The Heart, written by Leslie Eaton and illustrated by Nicole Plymesser Nelson is series of Bible study coloring books for adults. Not only is our work group doing Nature Walk, but I also joined Bible Stories for the Heart's Facebook group page to be apart of the Love Drops study. Below are just a few samples of the artwork in Love Drops.

Bible Stories from the Heart really helps the reader to learn how to savor God's Word and meditate on it. As I sat down to color, I found myself becoming very relaxed. Now, because I love doing all kinds of art projects, I noticed that all of it to a degree is relaxing, however focusing on the word while coloring recharges and refreshes me in a way that is totally unique.

What I love so much about this study approach is that it really helps with scripture memorization in a creative, soothing and relaxing atmosphere. I have greatly enjoyed this curriculum in a group setting, then also at home by myself, or with my youngest son who loves to color.  Having an opportunity to sit and color the same coloring sheet and talk about it together is so fun and deepens our personal relationship.

My favorite technique is coloring first and then going over the background with water colors.  In a group setting, it is inspiring to see the different imaginative styles. With children, even thought the study is geared for adults, my youngest enjoys recognizing his sight words and doing art with mom. By the way, they won't always want to do stuff with mom, so savor those moments too!

Love Drops! There is a precious peace that surpasses all understanding when getting alone with your heart's desire. To read His love letters and to savor sweet time with Him. To be still and know that He is God and that He loves us is quite an amazing experience. Because God's word has healed and transformed my life, I would love to give a copy of Love Drops away to a chosen winner of a drawing to be held after Thanksgiving!

What a great story about a lovely teacher who influenced your family for the better! This is a great idea she had as well, since the adult coloring craze has really taken off and would be such a soothing way to connect with Our Father through scripture and the work of our hands.

I've followed you on twitter. This book looks amazing. What a great idea - I also love to color, and I think it's so cool that it was created by someone who made such a positive impact on your family.
