Y'all, was I wrong! (Southern for - dear reader, I was mistaken on a subject matter.) I found myself drawn to and yet so very skeptical of adult coloring books. Seen them in stores and thought it was a neat concept, but the reality of having time to sit down and color didn't not seem like a possible fit for me. I get up before sunrise to get a morning time and feel like the rest of the day is a frantic race, full of activities all the way to sundown. Besides, thought my husband would have serious concerns if I starting posting my own coloring sheets on the fridge. God has been putting it on my heart to slow down and focus on Him through out my day; to recognize and enjoy the blessings all around me. And the way I came across this adult coloring Bible study was truly a divine appointment. My coordinator was leading a women's Bible Study after work and I almost didn't go to the first meeting, cause again I didn't think I could possibly sign up for one more thing. But I heard that small voice urging me to go, so I did! In our first gathering, different suggestions where laid out for us to vote on. Leslie Eaton's name came up and the circuits didn't connect for me at the time, until I saw her picture later. She was my son's (now in high school) amazing elementary school teacher. If I had missed that first meeting, I would have never made the connection. After looking over our options, everyone seemed very interested in the Nature Walk edition from Bible Stories From The Heart and we soon started our journey. Bible Stories From The Heart, written by Leslie Eaton and illustrations and artwork by Nicole Plymesser Nelson, has totally made me rethink the whole adult coloring thing. Since I had already had a very high opinion of Leslie's attention to detail and her positive, encouraging attitude in teaching her students firsthand, I was excited to start our study. What took me by surprise, was how calming and rejuvenating the study method was. We read the Word together, taking turns reading aloud, and then were encouraged to take a nature walk as a group, to focus on His creation. As we got back to color and listen to music, the weights on my shoulders started to roll off and I felt like a little child again, with Abba Father overseeing our classroom. I get teary just thinking how nice it felt to sit still, becoming like a little child to focus on His Word. As group Bible study time came to an end, I couldn't believe how relaxed I felt. My neck and shoulders felt like soft butter. There was a much deeper calm in my spirit, mind and body than any massage I had ever received. When I got home, I couldn't wait to finish my coloring sheet. Hope you will take time to get still and focus on Him and His Word. Highly recommend this Bible study for your group! I love hearing how others connect with God. We're all so unique. Glad you've found a way to do just that. Love it!

I absolutely love this! I have the absolute pleasure of living with my niece and nephew (4 and 6) and my times coloring with them always bring me peace and relaxation, so I absolutely see the validity in connecting with God in that way! I do a little bit of that in my bullet journaling in little doodles and sketches. I always love new suggestions to be still before Him!
