Nature Walk Week Three - Bible Stories From The Heart

Here in the Southeast, we are experiencing record breaking drought along with forest fires, so this week's focus verse on Jeremiah 17: 7-8 speaks in high volume.

As our group went on our Nature Walk, we noticed the roots of beautiful strong trees planted by the waters.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit."  Jeremiah 17: 7-8 (NKJV)

Getting still to listen and learn from our Creator. I know there are many things He longs to show us through His word and His creation. Just before the verses on the blessed man, there is a warning in verse five and six.  Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes his flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.  Jeremiah 17: 5-6 

​In the Nature Walk study, it is pointed out that trees don't get to choose where they are planted, but we do have a choice on whom to place our trust and where to be planted.

I couldn't help but notice that not only were the trees blessed by their root's location near the water, but also the wildlife that were drawn to gather at the base of these trees; they found comfort as well.

Taking in the lessons from God's word and longing to be rooted in the love and truth of who He is! To fully put my trust in Him. What a beautiful way He teaches us!

As we walked back inside we were recharged and refreshed!

​Sitting down to color and focus again on His promises for those who put their trust in Him.

​"they shall be like a tree planted near water."  Jeremiah 17: 7-8
